Greetings Coffee Lovers,
It's my hope and prayer that you, your family, and friends had a wonderful summer. We are lucky to have such awesome weather this year.
Now, onto the coffee...
Late last week we were notified of two new coffee reviews that were published and went live this morning.
Nicaragua La Bastilla: 93 points Our new washed-processed Geisha variety coffee micro-lot was sourced from Finca La Bastilla, an idyllic farm set atop the high peaks of Nicaragua's Jinotega department. Ripe red coffee cherries were picked from La Bastilla's Geisha micro-farm. The cherries were floated, depulped, then placed in fermentation tanks to remove the mucilage. The resulting clean cup profile offers a clear view of the Geisha variety with floral, honey, and fresh peach
notes. This is a lovely Nicaragua-grown Geisha with the variety’s signature florality and citrus sparkle, underscored by honeyed sweetness and bright stone-fruit depth.
Kenya Murang'a AA: 93 points Murang'a is situated in Central Kenya, an area renowned for its favorable coffee-growing conditions. The region benefits from fertile volcanic soil, high altitudes and a temperate climate with moderate rainfall, all of which contribute to the production of high-quality coffee with distinct flavors and bright acidity. Murang'a, like neighboring Nyeri, is recognized for producing some of Kenya's most sought-after coffees. This coffee is a
fruit-driven yet balanced Kenya with layered complexity — juicy berry and citrus set against rich cocoa and floral depth.
All in all, both of these coffees are amazing, and both coffees are sure to please.
As always, happy brewing. Patrick and Sarah
